The Energy of Life

What is “Ki”?  Ki is pronounced the same as the English word “key”.  Ki is the Korean to English translation.  Ki, Qi (also pronounced “key”) and Chi (pronounced in English as “chee”) all refer to the same teaching of life.  This teaching is that there is a natural energy in all living things by which we are connected.  This energy is the living force of nature and our universe.  Ki to Life is the pursuit of a healthy life through good energy development.  The foundations of energy development are good mental health, good physical health, good nutrition and a good environment.  Good energy is good health.  No health is no life, lose health … lose everything.  Health is the “key to life”!

Mental Health

Proper mental exercise for health and development is essential for overall quality of life.

Physical Health

Proper exercise for health and development is essential for overall quality of life.

Nutrition

Diet and nutrition are essential as food is medicine for the body and essential for life.

Environment

A proper environment influences good overall health and is essential for life.

The Three Principles

The foundations of good mental health, good physical health, good nutrition and good environment build the principle of “mind, body and spirit”.  The mind controls all things. A strong mind requires a good attitude and discipline. A healthy body is a healthy life. Physical health developments are based on moderation and balance. Mind and body work and combine into the development of good spirit. Good spirit is good energy and results in healthy living.

Mind
A good attitude and good discipline
What we believe is what we have in our lives be it positive or negative. The development of a good mind requires a good attitude and good discipline. A good attitude and good discipline are developed through honesty, a good personality, good character and a positive attitude.
Body
Exercise, nutrition & environment
A healthy body is a pillar for a healthy life. Physical health is based on moderation. Moderation is defined here as not too much, not too little. Physical health is maximized through good nutrition, a good living environment that includes undue stress and good exercise.
Spirit
Mind & body develop a good spirit
A persistent and unwavering mind through a proper learning environment, purity of body, proper mental conditions with compassion and dignity, good judgment and clarity of thought, an appreciative attitude toward nature and an adaptive mind all contribute to a good spirit.
Foundations of Health

The Foundations of Health serve as a base to develop a greater understanding of what the principle of a healthy life means. Good mental health, good physical health, good nutrition and good environment lay the foundation for the development of a quality life. There are many ways to get there, but the Foundations of Health unite all in the journey toward healthy living.
